Adam Sackstein, MD
Dr. Adam Sackstein is the founder and medical director of The Pain Management Center, a Prospira PainCare Center of Excellence, located in Hamilton and Voorhees, New Jersey, suburbs of Philadelphia. Dr. Sackstein received his undergraduate degree from City University of New York, Brooklyn College and his medical degree from State University of New York Health Science Center of Brooklyn College of Medicine after completing a seven year combined BA/MD program.
Dr. Sackstein’s internal medicine internship was completed at Staten Island University Hospital and his anesthesiology residency and pain medicine training was completed at Yale University-New Haven Hospital. Dr. Sackstein is board certified in pain medicine and anesthesiology and is a diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine. He is also a past President of the New Jersey Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and continues to serve on its Executive Board. Dr. Sackstein is also Chairman of the Board of the Hamilton Surgical Center located in Hamilton, New Jersey and Treasurer of Premier Surgical Center located in Marlton, New Jersey.
Prospira PainCare Appoints Dr. Adam Sackstein to its Board of Directors
Dr. Adam Sackstein has been appointed to the Prospira PainCare Board of Directors. Dr. Sackstein is the founder and medical director of The Pain Management Center, A Prospira PainCare Center of Excellence, with locations in New Jersey and Philadelphia. He is board certified in pain medicine and anesthesiology and is a diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine. He is also a past President of the New Jersey Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and continues to serve on its Executive Board. There is much excitement in adding an accomplished pain management doctor to the Board, where he will surely bring a physician’s perspective.
In addition to Dr. Sackstein’s impressive credentials and experience, he brings tremendous energy, passion, and a positive attitude. Dr. Adam Sackstein is an outstanding addition to the Prospira Board and will help to lead Prospira’s future growth and success.
Youssef Josephson, D.O.
Youssef Josephson, DO is the newest member of The Pain Management Center, a Prospira PainCare Center of Excellence. Dr. Josephson received his medical degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Osteopathic Medicine and then completed a medical internship at Crozer Keystone Health Systems, Delaware County Memorial Hospital.
He completed his residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation with a focus on electrodiagnostics at Albert Einstein, North Shore-Long Island Jewish Hospital in Manhasset, New York and completed subspecialty training in interventional pain medicine at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania under world-renowned pain management pioneer, Dr. Frank JE Falco. Currently, Dr. Josephson is assistant professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Rowan University-School of Osteopathic Medicine and specializes in interventional pain management, musculoskeletal medicine, and electromyography.
Pavli Demian, D.O.
Dr. Pavli Demian is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and board eligible in Pain Medicine. He specializes in non-operative spine and musculoskeletal care. He has extensive experience in diagnosis and treatment of various acute and chronic musculoskeletal, neurological, and pain disorders. He focuses his attention and practice on improving patient’s function in addition to their pain to enhance their quality of life.
Dr. Demian understands that pain can have an impact on every aspect of a patient’s life. He provides comprehensive and conservative treatment solutions such as directed rehabilitation and interventional procedures.
Dr. Demian completed his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University majoring in Genetics. He was awarded a medical degree from UMDNJ/Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School/Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. In his final year of residency, Dr. Demian served as Administrative Chief Resident. Following residency training, Dr. Demian completed an ACGME accredited Pain Medicine Fellowship at the UCLA/WLA VA multi-disciplinary training program.
Dr. Demian is trained in spinal injections (e.g. epidurals, facet blocks), ultrasound guided joint injections, peripheral and central nerve blocks, and neuromodulation therapy such as spinal cord stimulation and dorsal root ganglion stimulation. These are effective modalities in the treatment of conditions such as complex regional pain syndrome, peripheral neuropathy, sciatic and radicular pain, arthritis, and fibromyalgia.
Kevin Dolan, M.D
Kevin Dolan, M.D., comes to us with over three decades of experience and success in pain medicine and anesthesiology. He is a Magnum Cum Laude graduate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Harvard University. After completing his undergraduate degree, he went on to graduate from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1983. Dr. Dolan completed his surgical residency in 1985 at New England Deaconess/Harvard Surgical Services, Boston, MA and then completed Anesthesia Residency in 1990 from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, New Hampshire. Dr. Dolan is Board-Certified in Pain Medicine and completed his fellowship at University of Pennsylvania where he also was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesia. Dr. Dolan is a remarkable addition to the Pain Management team.
Dr. Renee Levin, Ph.D.
Dr. Renee Levin is the pain psychologist at The Pain Management Center, a Prospira PainCare Center of Excellence. Dr. Levin received her undergraduate degree from Brown University and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Emory University. She completed her clinical psychology internship and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in chronic pain management at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Prior to joining The Pain Management Center, Dr. Levin was a faculty member in the anesthesiology department at Robert Wood Johnson (now Rutgers) Medical School.
Heather Forgash, APN
Heather Forgash is a board-certified nurse practitioner in family-individual across the lifespan. She attended Thomas Jefferson University to acquire her master’s degree of science in nursing. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a registered nurse for over five years. In those five years she worked in the Emergency Room for over two years, in which she realized her passion for caring for all types of patients of all ages. Working in the ER contributed to her interest in pain management, due to the expanding population of patients with inadequate pain control. Heather also has experience working as a registered nurse in a rehab facility and intensive care unit. Her vast nursing experience contributed to her overall passion in improving patient’s quality of life by adequately controlling pain using medication and interventional pain management modalities.
Madhavi Patel, APN
Madhavi Patel is a board-certified nurse practitioner in adult-gerontology primary care. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a registered nurse for six years. It was during this time she realized her passion for working with and caring for the geriatric population. As she studied at New York University towards her Master’s degree, she decided to pursue a double major which included palliative care, where she learned more about pain and symptom management. She was able to do several clinical rotations at New York City hospitals including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and New York University Langone Medical Center, where she learned from top providers in oncology and palliative care. She also rotated through a VA hospital’s pain department where she further developed an interest in pain management.
Madhavi is well-versed in both medication and interventional pain management. What she loves most about her job is building relationships with her patients so she can effectively treat them in the hopes of increasing their daily function. She also loves to teach and will take the time to explain different treatments with her patients.
